Since 2018, GHA has been assisting the Village of Mount Prospect by providing design and construction engineering services related to implementing planned pedestrian safety improvements at key intersections throughout the Central Road corridor. Typical work for these projects includes the construction of a pedestrian refuge island, roadway widening, improved signage to enhance pedestrian visibility, and associated sidewalk improvements. GHA developed alternates to determine the best design at each intersection, presented the preferred alternate to the Village’s Transportation Safety Commission, and coordinated with IDOT to receive the necessary permits for work on Central Road.
