Gewalt Hamilton Associates, Inc. (GHA) was selected by the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) to conduct vehicle classification and turning movement data collection as part of its statewide traffic counting program. Currently in year four of the contract, GHA supports data collection across the full state network, averaging approximately 1,000 count locations annually. The work includes 48-hour FHWA classification counts on urban and rural roadways, along with 16-hour turning movement counts at key intersections.
Using Miovision cameras and tube counters, GHA ensured accurate and reliable data collection. GPS waypoint mapping was utilized for precise site location tracking and seamless coordination between field teams and ODOT. Data was processed and delivered in compliance with ODOT specifications, supporting the department’s traffic monitoring and infrastructure planning efforts.
GHA’s rigorous QA/QC processes, combined with decades of expertise, enabled the delivery of high-quality data to support ODOT’s mission of enhancing Oklahoma’s transportation network.
