Gewalt Hamilton Associates, Inc. (GHA) provided professional engineering services to the Schaumburg Park District for the development of new pickleball courts at Olympic Park. The project expanded the park’s recreational offerings by creating a dedicated pickleball complex designed for both casual and competitive use.

GHA’s services included the design and layout of eight new pickleball courts, ADA-compliant sidewalk connections, associated fencing, and parking improvements. The plans also incorporated sports lighting infrastructure to support evening play and improve overall availability.

Given the site’s proximity to regulated floodplain areas, stormwater management was thoughtfully integrated into the project. GHA prepared a stormwater report addressing detention, volume control, and compensatory storage requirements to ensure regulatory compliance. Drainage design and grading improvements were integrated to support long-term court durability and functionality.

Permitting coordination with local and regional agencies was conducted throughout the project, ensuring approvals for construction within the park’s existing footprint. GHA’s efforts helped elevate Olympic Park as a recreational destination by introducing dedicated pickleball amenities that meet accessibility and performance standards.
