Gewalt Hamilton Associates, Inc. (GHA) is conducting a safety-focused traffic study for a 1.3-mile section of Pfingsten Road in the Village of Glenview, between Willow Road and East Lake Avenue. The goal of this project is to evaluate existing traffic conditions and identify potential improvements to improve safety for both motorists and pedestrians.

GHA’s reviewed speed data and volume counts to support an evaluation of crash trends, pedestrian crossing behavior, and driver compliance at critical locations. Special attention is being given to areas with offset intersections, where geometry may be contributing to operational and safety concerns.

The study has involved two public open house meetings to gather feedback from residents and corridor users. Concerns shared during these events have informed a set of preliminary recommendations that may include restriping, installation of radar feedback signs, sidewalk enhancements and other traffic calming recommendations. Coordination with IDOT is ongoing, as Pfingsten Road falls under state jurisdiction.
