Gewalt Hamilton Associates, Inc. (GHA) provides Responsible Operator in Charge (ROINC) services for the Tanneron Bay community water supply, an Illinois EPA-regulated system. Services include seven-day site presence for general oversight; coordination of required sampling and third-party laboratory analyses; review of daily chlorine readings; compilation and filing of regulatory reports; and response to IEPA information requests. GHA maintains a 24-hour telephone response line, reports emergencies to the Association’s representative, and submits monthly reports summarizing operational data, maintenance needs, customer issues addressed, and anticipated operating needs.
As part of GHA’s ongoing operational support, a series of system enhancements were recommended and incorporated to strengthen long-term reliability and regulatory compliance. These included establishing an annual tank flushing program, implementing quarterly hydrant flushing, maintaining spare well fuses for both well pumps to ensure operational continuity, and transitioning routine sample processing to a certified laboratory for improved consistency and reporting. Together, these efforts have enhanced the performance and maintainability of the Tanneron Bay community water system.
